Ted's Soused Shrimp features tender shrimp in a flavorful garlic, lemon, and vermouth sauce, perfect for seafood lovers and ideal for casual gatherings or appetizers.

Ingredients

  • 24 shrimp (12 to 15 count)
  • 3 oz olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 2 lemons (juice)
  • 1 Tbsp coarse black pepper
  • 2 oz dry vermouth
  • salt

Instructions

  1. In a saute pan, heat the olive oil and add the finely chopped garlic.
  2. Be careful that the garlic does not get brown.
  3. Add the shrimp and saute together for about 2 to 4 minutes.
  4. Add black pepper, lemon juice, vermouth, and salt to taste.
  5. Simmer for 2 minutes or until the shrimp are cooked.
  6. Serve with crusty French bread or hard rolls.
  7. You can cook the shrimp peeled first or in the shell and peel later.
  8. If cooked in the shell, suck the juice out first, then peel the shrimp, dip in the sauce again, and eat.
  9. Use the bread for dipping.
