Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. scalded milk
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Add butter, sugar, and salt to scalded milk.
  2. Stir to mix well and let cool to lukewarm.
  3. Add yeast to cooled milk mixture; stir until dissolved.
  4. Add 1 cup of flour; beat with a rotary beater until well blended.
  5. Add eggs; beat until smooth.
  6. Mix in remaining flour until thoroughly blended.
  7. Cover and let rest for 5 minutes.
  8. Knead for 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic.
  9. Place in a greased bowl and let rise in a warm place until double in bulk.
