Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 (1.25 oz.) envelope taco seasoning mix
  • 1/2 (15 to 16 oz.) jar salsa
  • 1/4 c. sour cream
  • 1 1/2 c. tortilla or corn chips
  • 1/4 c. grated Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 medium onion

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven as needed for assembling or baking.
  2. Layer tortilla or corn chips in a baking dish.
  3. In a skillet, cook ground beef until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. Add chopped onion and cook until softened.
  5. Stir in taco seasoning mix and salsa; simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Pour the beef mixture over the chips.
  7. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.
  8. Bake until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 20-25 minutes.
  9. Serve with a dollop of sour cream.
