Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 heaping tablespoons flour
  • 2 heaping tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 2/3 stick butter

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, flour, cocoa, and milk in a saucepan and boil while stirring constantly until thickened.
  2. Remove from heat and take 2 tablespoons of the hot mixture to mix with beaten egg yolks.
  3. Return the egg yolk mixture to the saucepan and boil until thickened again. Remove from heat and add butter.
  4. Pour the filling into a baked pie crust and let it set before serving.
