Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup warm milk (110° to 115°F)
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature.
  2. Heat milk to lukewarm (110° to 115° F). Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk.
  3. Cream together 1 stick of margarine, sugar, and salt.
  4. Add the milk with dissolved yeast to the butter mixture and blend well.
  5. Beat the eggs separately and then add them to the mixture. Beat together thoroughly.
  6. Add 1 1/2 cups of flour and mix well.
  7. Cover the mixture and let it rise for 1 hour.
  8. Add another 1 1/2 cups of flour and mix thoroughly.
  9. Refrigerate the dough for several hours or overnight.
  10. Drop spoonfuls of the dough into a greased Bundt or tube pan.
  11. Pour 1 stick of melted butter over the batter.
  12. Allow the dough to rise for 3 hours.
  13. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes.
  14. Slice and serve.
