Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream (brick style)
  • 1 1/2 bars German sweet chocolate
  • 1 1/2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large can evaporated milk
  • dash of salt

Instructions

  1. Mix together the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar, then press into a 9 x 13-inch pan to form the crust.
  2. Freeze the crust until firm.
  3. Slice the vanilla ice cream about 1 inch thick and layer on top of the frozen crust.
  4. Freeze until the ice cream is firm.
  5. In a saucepan, combine the German sweet chocolate, butter, sugar, evaporated milk, and a dash of salt.
  6. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth and thickened.
  7. Pour the chocolate topping over the ice cream layer.
  8. Freeze until ready to serve.
