Ingredients

  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Melt unsweetened chocolate, Crisco, and a pinch of salt together.
  2. Add sugar to the melted mixture and blend well.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
  4. Stir in flour and vanilla, then fold in half of the chopped walnuts.
  5. Spread the batter onto a cookie sheet to a 1/4-inch thickness.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining chopped walnuts on top.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
