- Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water.
- Add eggs, flour, salt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture and mix to form a soft dough.
- Turn the dough onto a floured board and knead until smooth.
- Place the dough back into a bowl and let it rise until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and knead briefly.
- Roll the dough until thin on a floured surface.
- Spread butter over the rolled dough.
- Roll up the dough jelly roll style and cut into 1-inch slices.
- Place the slices in a greased muffin tin and let rise until puffy.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Brush the baked topknots with melted butter before serving.
