Ingredients

  • 1 (46 oz.) can chicken or beef broth
  • 1 (16 oz.) package frozen cheese tortellini
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 2 Tbsp. corn starch
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Reserve 1 1/4 cups of broth from the can.
  2. Bring the remaining broth to a boil in a large pot.
  3. Add the frozen cheese tortellini and cook until tender.
  4. Drain the cooked tortellini and set aside.
  5. In a small bowl, blend the cornstarch into the reserved broth.
  6. In a large saucepan, sauté garlic and basil in margarine for 2 minutes over medium heat.
  7. Add the cornstarch-broth mixture to the saucepan.
  8. Cook and stir until the sauce thickens and comes to a boil.
  9. Place the cooked tortellini in a serving dish.
  10. Pour the broth mixture and Parmesan cheese over the tortellini and toss.
  11. Serve with toothpicks.
