Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 c. hot water

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Cut in shortening until crumbly.
  3. Gradually add hot water, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Divide dough into 8 balls and roll out like pie crust.
  5. Heat a dry skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Cook tortillas in the hot skillet until bubbles form and edges lift, about 1-2 minutes per side.
  7. Serve warm.
