Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening
  • 2/3 c. warm water

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, salt, and baking powder in a bowl.
  2. Work in shortening until the mixture is fine and crumbly.
  3. Add warm water to the mixture.
  4. Mix well with hands and knead until the dough is soft and smooth.
  5. Divide the dough into 8 or 12 parts.
  6. Roll each part into a very thin, round shape.
  7. Bake on a hot, ungreased griddle, turning until both sides are browned.
  8. Keep warm in a 150° oven until ready to serve.
