Tips & Substitutions

For a spicier kick, consider adding diced jalapeños or a sprinkle of cayenne pepper to the beef mixture. If you're short on time, you can substitute the ground beef with shredded rotisserie chicken. Feel free to use your favorite salsa instead of tomato sauce for added flavor. This dish can also be made vegetarian by using black beans and meatless crumbles.

Serving Suggestions

This Tostito Pie is perfect as a hearty main dish and pairs beautifully with a side of guacamole and sour cream. For a fresh touch, serve with a simple salad or some sliced avocados. It also makes a great appetizer for game day, alongside other favorites like Enchilada Dip or Beefy Enchilada Skillet.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place individual portions in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or bake in a preheated oven at 350°F until heated through, about 10-15 minutes. Cover with foil to prevent the cheese from browning too much.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make Tostito Pie ahead of time?

Yes! You can prepare the meat and layer the ingredients in the baking dish a day before. Cover and refrigerate until ready to bake. Just add a few extra minutes to the baking time if baking straight from the refrigerator.

What can I use instead of corn chips?

If you prefer a healthier option, try using baked tortilla chips or even crushed whole grain crackers. You could also layer the dish with tortilla wraps for a different texture.

How do I make this dish spicier?

To add some heat, mix in chopped fresh chilies, or use a spicier taco seasoning. You can also top the dish with sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce before serving.
