Ingredients

  • 1 German chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 (6 oz.) package chocolate chips
  • 1 package caramel candies
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix cake mix, melted butter, and 1/3 cup milk in a bowl.
  3. Spread half of the mixture evenly in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  4. Bake for 6 minutes.
  5. Pour chocolate chips and nuts over the baked bottom layer.
  6. Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk over low heat until smooth.
  7. Pour caramel mixture over the chocolate chips and nuts.
  8. Spread the remaining cake mix over the caramel layer.
  9. Bake for an additional 20 minutes.
