Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups self-rising cake flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar together.
  2. Add egg yolks and mix well.
  3. Combine all ingredients thoroughly.
  4. Alternately add flour, milk, and vanilla to the mixture.
  5. Fold in the beaten egg whites gently.
  6. Butter and flour a tube pan, then pour the batter into it.
  7. Bake in a 350°F oven for 50 minutes to 1 hour until golden and cooked through.
