Ingredients

  • 10 lb. boneless turkey breast
  • 7 lb. broccoli
  • 1 lb. butter
  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 qt. half and half
  • 1/2 gal. milk
  • 4 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 3 Tbsp. garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Cook turkey for 3 1/2 to 4 hours at 350°F.
  2. Cool turkey for 15 minutes, then slice thin.
  3. Steam broccoli for 4 minutes and arrange in a large roasting pan.
  4. Melt butter in a large pot over very low heat.
  5. Add flour to the melted butter and blend.
  6. Cook the flour-butter mixture for 10 minutes, stirring often to prevent burning.
  7. Add half and half, milk, grated Cheddar cheese, and garlic powder to the mixture; stir until well blended.
  8. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 10 to 15 minutes, stirring often.
  9. Add water if necessary to achieve desired consistency.
  10. Drape turkey slices over the broccoli in the roasting pan.
  11. Pour the cheese sauce over the turkey and broccoli until fully covered.
  12. Sprinkle lightly with paprika.
  13. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
