Turkey Burger Supper

Juicy turkey patties flavored with horseradish, apple, and herbs, served with toasted pita bread and creamy cole slaw for a satisfying, flavorful meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 2 Tbsp. horseradish
  • 1 medium Granny Smith apple, peeled and shredded
  • 1/2 small onion, grated
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 2 or more rounds pita bread
  • corn oil
  • cole slaw with yogurt dressing

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix ground turkey, salt, horseradish, shredded apple, grated onion, and 1 tablespoon of parsley flakes.
  2. Shape the mixture into four 1-inch thick patties.
  3. Spray a broiling rack with nonstick cooking spray; place the patties on the rack.
  4. Broil the patties 4 minutes, then turn them over and broil an additional 5 to 6 minutes until cooked through.
  5. Cut the pita bread into quarters, brush with corn oil, and sprinkle with the remaining parsley flakes.
  6. Broil the pita quarters for 1 to 2 minutes until lightly toasted.
  7. Serve the turkey burgers with the toasted pita and cole slaw with yogurt dressing.
