Ingredients

  • 1 box Twinkies
  • 12 oz. chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 6 egg whites

Instructions

  1. Line a 9 x 13-inch pan with split Twinkies, reserving one set aside.
  2. Combine chocolate chips, water, and sugar in a saucepan and cook over low heat until melted.
  3. Add egg yolks one at a time to the chocolate mixture, beating after each addition, then set aside to cool.
  4. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold into the cooled chocolate mixture.
  5. Spread the chocolate mixture over the Twinkies in the pan.
  6. Let the mixture set until firm in the refrigerator.
  7. Spread Cool Whip over the chocolate layer.
  8. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
