Ingredients

  • 1 lb. twist macaroni
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 2 c. mayonnaise
  • 1 c. celery, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. turmeric
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the twist macaroni until al dente, then drain well.
  2. Allow the macaroni to cool completely before adding the dressing.
  3. In a bowl, blend sugar, water, vinegar, mayonnaise, chopped celery, chopped onion, turmeric, celery seed, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Mix the cooled macaroni with the dressing until evenly coated.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Stir the salad before serving.
