Ingredients

  • 1 box Duncan Hines Butter Recipe cake mix
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip
  • 1 small sour cream

Instructions

  1. Bake the Duncan Hines Butter Recipe cake mix as directed on the box.
  2. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  3. Split each cake layer in half horizontally to create four layers.
  4. Prepare the coconut filling by mixing 2 cups of sugar, the small sour cream, and the 8 oz. Cool Whip until well combined.
  5. Spread the filling between each cake layer.
  6. Assemble the layers to form a two-layer cake with filling in between.
  7. Optionally, frost the top and sides of the cake with additional Cool Whip or frosting.
