Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 heaping tablespoons flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons margarine

Instructions

  1. Separate egg whites and yolks; set whites aside for meringue.
  2. In a bowl, mix egg yolks, sugar, and flour until well combined.
  3. Add a little of the milk to the mixture to help it blend, then add the remaining milk, vanilla, and margarine.
  4. Cook the mixture on the stove over medium heat, stirring often until thickened.
  5. Allow the custard to cool.
  6. Pour the cooled custard into an unbaked pie crust.
  7. Bake the pie at 325°F until the crust is browned.
