Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. canned milk
  • 1/3 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 Tbsp. white Karo syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp. butter

Instructions

  1. Stir sugar and canned milk until dissolved, heating slowly to a slow boil.
  2. Place cream of tartar on the side of the pan and dissolve before mixing thoroughly.
  3. Cook slowly to soft ball stage.
  4. Add Karo syrup.
  5. Set aside to cool.
  6. Add vanilla and butter.
  7. Cool to thumbprint consistency.
  8. Beat until smooth.
  9. Add nuts and pour into greased pan.
