Ingredients

  • 8 medium apples, sliced thin
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 5 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. cooking oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. orange juice
  • 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix apples, cinnamon, and sugar in a bowl and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cooking oil, eggs, salt, orange juice, and vanilla. Beat together until smooth.
  3. Grease and flour a tube pan.
  4. Layer the batter and apples in the pan, starting with a layer of batter and ending with a layer of apples on top.
  5. Bake at 350° for about 1 1/2 hours or until done.
  6. Test with a toothpick to ensure it's cooked through.
