Veal Romano features tender veal rolls filled with prosciutto and mozzarella, cooked in a flavorful white wine sauce—an elegant dish perfect for special occasions or sophisticated dinners.

Ingredients

  • 8 small slices veal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 8 thin slices Prosciutto
  • 8 thin slices Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 stick margarine or butter
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Pound each veal slice to tenderize.
  2. Coat each veal slice with flour.
  3. Layer one slice of prosciutto and one slice of mozzarella on each veal piece.
  4. Roll up each veal slice and secure with a toothpick.
  5. Heat margarine in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat until melted.
  6. Cook the veal rolls in the margarine, turning occasionally until browned.
  7. Add white wine to the skillet; sprinkle with salt.
  8. Cover and cook over medium-high heat for 4 minutes.
