Ingredients

  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup water or milk
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Sift the cake flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl.
  2. Beat the egg and mix it into the dry ingredients.
  3. Blend with water or milk to make a thin batter.
  4. Heat enough oil in a frying pan to cover the base of the pan.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil.
  6. Fry until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Serve hot with butter, honey, syrup, or cheese.
