Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups of water, 1 cup of vinegar, 2 cups of sugar, and nutmeg to a boil.
  2. Mix 1 1/2 cups of flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, 3/4 cup of water, and oil to form a dough.
  3. Pat the dough into a ball.
  4. Roll out the dough and cut into squares.
  5. Drop the squares into the boiling vinegar mixture and cook until tender.
