Ingredients

  • 2 c. salt
  • 1 gal. water
  • 6 c. vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. pickling spice
  • 5 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed

Instructions

  1. Boil the water with salt, vinegar, pickling spice, and celery seed. Pour the hot solution over the pickles.
  2. On the fifth morning, reheat the vinegar solution, add 2 cups sugar, and pour over the pickles.
  3. On the sixth morning, reheat the vinegar.
