Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 2 cups berry juice
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, salt, and shortening until crumbly.
  2. Add 1/4 cup water and mix to form a dough.
  3. Roll the dough as a pie crust.
  4. Spread a mixture of 3/4 cup sugar and 1 stick softened margarine over the crust.
  5. Roll the crust like a jelly roll and cut into 1-inch thick crosswise slices.
  6. Lay the slices flat in a 9-inch pie pan.
  7. Pour berry juice mixed with 1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch over the crust.
  8. Bake at 350°F until golden brown.
