A fun, portable fireless salad featuring crisp apples filled with a sweet and nutty cream cheese mixture, perfect for quick snacks or hiking adventures.

Ingredients

  • 8 medium apples
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Wash and core the apples, saving the top of the core to use as a lid.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the cream cheese, chopped nuts, and raisins.
  3. Fill the apple centers with the cream cheese mixture.
  4. Cover with the top of the apple core; secure in place with two round wooden toothpicks.
  5. If using as a snack on a hike, place the apple in a plastic sandwich bag.
