Warm and festive Wassail Punch combines apple cider, cranberry juice, and aromatic spices, creating a cozy beverage perfect for holiday gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1 gal. apple cider
  • 1 1/2 qt. cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups brown sugar
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 3/4 tsp. whole allspice
  • 1 tsp. whole cloves
  • orange wedges

Instructions

  1. Mix brown sugar and juice in a large saucepan or percolator.
  2. Stud an orange wedge with cloves and add it to the mixture.
  3. Place the other spices in a percolator basket or tie them in cheesecloth and add to the pan.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Cover and simmer for at least 10 minutes.
  6. Remove the spices and orange wedge.
  7. Serve warm with orange slices.
