Tips & Substitutions

For a vibrant fruit salad, use ripe, fresh fruits. If you can't find peaches, try nectarines or plums as a substitute. To add a twist, consider drizzling a bit of lime juice over the fruit for extra brightness or try pairing it with Tony'S Punch for a refreshing drink option. Use a melon baller for uniform fruit shapes.

Serving Suggestions

This Watermelon Supreme makes a stunning centerpiece for summer gatherings. Pair it with grilled meats or serve alongside a light salad like Great Pasta Salad for a complete meal. For dessert, consider offering Baked Apple Delight to complement the fresh fruit flavors.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover fruit salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days. To keep fruits fresh, avoid mixing them until ready to serve. Refrain from freezing, as the texture will be compromised. Serve chilled for the best experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this recipe ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the fruits a few hours in advance, but it's best to assemble the salad just before serving to maintain freshness. Keep the cut fruit in the refrigerator until you're ready to mix them together in the watermelon shell.

What if I don't have a watermelon?

If watermelon isn't available, any large, hollowed-out fruit, like a pineapple or a pumpkin, can serve as an alternative serving vessel. Adjust the amount of fruit accordingly to fit the new shell and enjoy a unique presentation.

Can I add other fruits to this salad?

Absolutely! Feel free to include other seasonal fruits such as strawberries, kiwi, or grapes for added color and flavor. This recipe is versatile, allowing you to customize it based on your preferences or what's available.
