Ingredients

  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2/3 c. shortening, melted

Instructions

  1. Melt the shortening in a pan in which the biscuits will be baked.
  2. Leave enough melted shortening in the pan to turn the biscuits.
  3. Add the remaining melted shortening to the self-rising flour and buttermilk, then mix well.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the prepared pan with the melted shortening.
  5. Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
