Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb butter or margarine
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 pint whipping cream
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup pecans

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Alternately add whipping cream and flour, beginning and ending with flour, mixing gently after each addition.
  4. Stir in vanilla and pecans.
  5. Pour batter into a greased and floured tube pan.
  6. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 1 hour and 15 minutes, avoiding opening the oven during the first hour.
