Ingredients

  • 1 pkg bacon or sausage
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp. bacon or sausage grease (reserved)
  • 2 heaping Tbsp. flour
  • 2 c. milk
  • 3/4 to 1 c. water

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon or sausage in a frying pan.
  2. Sift in heaping tablespoonfuls of flour into the saved grease, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
  3. Cook until the flour is browned.
  4. Add milk to the mixture.
  5. Add water gradually, stirring well.
  6. Season with salt to taste, adding a little at a time until desired flavor is reached.
  7. Cook over medium heat until the gravy thickens.
