Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. whitefish fillets
  • 1 cup chopped spinach
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. minced onion
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • milk or water to moisten dressing
  • butter or margarine, melted
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/3 cup water

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle the whitefish fillets with salt and pepper.
  2. Place half of the fish in the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  3. Spread a mixture of chopped spinach, bread crumbs, minced onion, and enough milk or water to moisten over the fish.
  4. Drizzle melted butter or margarine over the spinach mixture.
  5. In a bowl, combine mayonnaise with water to make a dressing, and spread it over the top.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 30 minutes or until the fish is cooked through and the topping is golden.
