Wild String Bean Casserole

A hearty casserole featuring tender French beans, water chestnuts, pimentos, and creamy mushroom sauce topped with cheesy cracker crumbs, perfect for family gatherings and holiday meals.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages frozen French beans
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 can water chestnuts
  • 1 small can chopped pimentos (2 oz.)
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1/2 to 1 can cream of celery soup

Instructions

  1. Arrange all ingredients in layers in a casserole dish.
  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and mix with milk and cracker crumbs to achieve the right consistency.
  3. Add sharp Cheddar cheese to the cracker crumb mixture.
  4. Sprinkle the cheese and cracker crumb mixture on top of the layered ingredients.
  5. Bake in a 350°F oven for approximately 1 hour or until hot and bubbly.
