Ingredients

  • 2 cans French-style green beans
  • 3 to 4 potatoes, sliced thin
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 can celery soup
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 to 2 pounds ground beef
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine the celery soup and mushroom soup in a bowl.
  2. Add water to the soup mixture and set aside.
  3. In a buttered baking dish, layer the green beans, sliced potatoes, and chopped onion.
  4. Pour half of the soup mixture over the layered vegetables.
  5. Place the ground beef on top of the vegetables and soup layer.
  6. Pour the remaining soup mixture over the ground beef.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 1 to 1 1/4 hours.
  8. At the end of baking, top with buttered Ritz crackers and return to the oven until crumbs turn brown.
