Ingredients

  • 2 lb. round steak
  • 5 large onions
  • 30 oz. tomato sauce
  • oregano
  • cumin
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Season meat with seasoned salt and pepper, then brown the meat and sliced onions in a pan.
  2. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add tomato sauce, oregano, and cumin to the browned meat and onions.
  4. Simmer the mixture until the meat is tender, about 2 hours, or use a slow cooker.
  5. If using a slow cooker, dredge the meat in 1 teaspoon of flour before browning.
  6. Serve the stew over rice.
