Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar together.
  2. Add the milk and mix well.
  3. Incorporate the flour, baking powder, and salt into the mixture.
  4. Beat the batter well until smooth.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  6. Grease and flour a tube pan.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake in a 350°F oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
