Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine sugar and flour.
  2. In a boiler, mix cocoa, margarine, oil, and water.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Pour the boiling mixture over the sugar and flour mixture.
  5. Stir in the eggs, buttermilk, cinnamon, soda, and vanilla.
  6. Mix by hand until well combined.
  7. Pour the batter into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.
