Yeast Raised Waffles
Ingredients
- 1/2 c. very warm water ⓘ
- 1 (1/4 oz.) pkg. dry yeast ⓘ
- 2 c. very warm milk ⓘ
- 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, melted ⓘ
- 1 tsp. salt ⓘ
- 1 tsp. sugar ⓘ
- 2 c. all-purpose flour ⓘ
- 2 eggs ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. small curd cottage cheese ⓘ
- 1 c. grated peeled cooking apple (1 large)
- 1/2 c. unbleached flour ⓘ
- 1/4 c. wheat flour ⓘ
- 1 Tbsp. honey ⓘ
- 1 tsp. lemon juice ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. salt ⓘ
Instructions
- Combine first 8 ingredients in bowl and blend in egg yolks. Beat whites and cream of tartar in another bowl until stiff, but not dry.
- Fold 1/4 whites into batter.
- Fold in remaining whites.
