Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. sirloin
  • 1 lb. fresh mushrooms
  • 2 onions
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 16 oz. sour cream
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup cooking sherry
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Cube the sirloin into bite-sized pieces and brown in hot oil. Remove from skillet.
  2. Reduce heat and sauté sliced mushrooms and onions until tender.
  3. Return the sirloin to the skillet; add tomato paste, water, and sherry.
  4. Simmer on very low heat for at least one hour, longer if desired.
  5. Add sour cream and seasonings before serving, heating gently to warm without boiling.
