Ingredients

  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. soft butter or margarine
  • 1 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 4 1/4 c. flour

Instructions

  1. Cream powdered sugar, granulated sugar, soft butter or margarine, vegetable oil, eggs, vanilla, salt, baking soda, and cream of tartar until well combined.
  2. Gradually add flour one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Freeze the dough and keep it frozen between batches.
  4. Roll the dough into small balls.
  5. Place the dough balls on a cookie sheet.
  6. Press each cookie with the bottom of a glass dipped in granulated sugar.
  7. Bake at 375°F for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
