Ingredients

  • 8 oz. large macaroni, cooked and drained
  • 3 cups grated extra sharp cheese
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 cups hot milk, scalded

Instructions

  1. Grease a casserole dish with butter.
  2. Layer cooked macaroni, 1 cup grated cheese, and sliced pats of butter until all are used up.
  3. Pour about 2 cups scalded hot milk over the layered macaroni.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Top with the remaining cheese.
  6. Bake at 375°F until bubbly and cheese is melted.
