Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 quart half and half
  • 3 eggs
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 0.75 cups sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Break up the French bread into pieces and place in a large bowl.
  2. Pour the half and half over the bread, covering it completely. Let stand for 1 hour to absorb the liquid.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and almond extract.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the soaked bread and gently mix to combine.
  6. Stir in the sliced almonds.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the pudding is set and golden on top.
