Ingredients

  • Crisco pastry for double crust
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons regular flour
  • 6 cups apple slices (about 6 medium apples)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  2. Pare, core, and slice the apples.
  3. Toss the apple slices with the sugar mixture.
  4. Turn the apple mixture into a pastry-lined 9-inch pie plate.
  5. Dot the filling with butter or margarine.
  6. Cover with the top crust, seal and flute the edge.
  7. Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape.
  8. Bake at 400°F for 30 to 40 minutes until the crust is golden brown and apples are tender.
