Ingredients

  • 3 lb. beef
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/4 c. soy sauce
  • 1 c. coffee
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a heavy skillet over high heat.
  3. Sear the beef on all sides until browned.
  4. Combine soy sauce, coffee, crumbled bay leaves, minced garlic (or garlic powder), dried oregano, and sliced onions.
  5. Place the seared beef in a roasting pan.
  6. Pour the mixture over the beef and vegetables.
  7. Cover and roast in the preheated oven for approximately 3 hours until the meat is tender.
