  • 3 lb black beans, soaked
  • 1 lb diced tomatoes
  • 2 c tomato paste
  • 10 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz Porter
  • 12 oz Anchor Steam
  • 1/2 c chili powder
  • 1/2 c cumin
  • 1/4 c coriander
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Sweat onions until clear.
  2. Add beans and tomato paste to the onions and cook until beans are done, then add dried tomatoes.
  3. Mix ground beef with chili powder, cumin, coriander, and cinnamon, then cook until crumbled, brown, and all grease is drained.
  4. Add cooked beef mixture to the bean mixture, then pour in Porter and Anchor Steam beer.
  5. Cook everything together for 5 minutes before serving.

Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider adding a dash of Worcestershire sauce or a splash of hot sauce. If you're short on time, canned black beans can be used instead of soaked beans. Adjust the spices according to your taste preference; a bit more chili powder can amp up the heat. This robust chili pairs beautifully with Corn Bread Chili Pie.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this hearty chili with a side of cornbread or over a bed of rice for a complete meal. Garnish with chopped cilantro, shredded cheese, or a dollop of sour cream for added flavor. It also pairs well with a refreshing salad or tortilla chips for crunch.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, gently warm on the stovetop over low heat, stirring occasionally, or microwave in short intervals. If the chili thickens too much, you can add a splash of water or broth to achieve your desired consistency.
