Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 package fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup apricot preserves
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds, toasted
  • 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine water and sugar and bring to a boil without stirring for 5 minutes.
  2. Add cranberries and cook until cranberries pop and sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and cut apricots into small pieces; add to the mixture.
  4. Stir in lemon juice and let cool.
  5. Fold in toasted slivered almonds.
  6. Spoon the spread over softened cream cheese and serve with your favorite crackers.
