Instructions
- Heat oven to 350°F.
- Beat margarine and 1/3 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add flour; mix well.
- Press onto bottom of ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Beat egg whites until foamy.
- Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
- Spread apricot preserves over the crust.
- Cover with meringue.
- Sprinkle with nuts.
- Continue baking 20 to 25 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- Cut while warm.
