Ingredients

  • 1 cube margarine, melted and cooled
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 apples, diced
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add sugar, vanilla, and eggs to the melted and cooled margarine and mix well.
  2. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
  3. Fold the sifted dry ingredients into the sugar and egg mixture until combined.
  4. Peel and dice the apples, then fold them into the batter.
  5. Add chopped nuts if desired and gently fold into the mixture.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
